Erie County Executive Race, 2015 Edition

And thus Stefan begot Christopher; and Christopher begot Raymond; and Raymond begot – who can Raymond begot? Steve? Ed?
NT2
There is a blog published in Albany that has an insider view of things governmental and political in the capital city. It’s NT2, which is short for Nec Temere, Nec Timide. That’s “neither rashly, nor timidly” for those of us who have forgotten our Latin.
It’s published anonymously, but whoever the writers are, they are certainly well informed about things and are happy to pass on their views. Here is a link for you to take a look:
Erie Community College
The college seems headed for some stormy weather – they may already be there. Limited county and state funding and high personnel expenses are draining the school’s fund balance as enrollment declines. Students are paying considerably more as their part of the operational costs of the school than state law is supposed to allow. Tony Farina in the Niagara Falls Reporter reports on some of these issues at the college:

The Tanking is Still Not Over
I’m not a big hockey fan, but I have to admit that all these stories about the Sabres’ race to the bottom have been rather fascinating. Of course it just seems that there was some deliberate plan at work here. While getting McDavid or Eichel will undoubtedly turn out to be a good thing for the Sabres, what kind of message, intentional or not, does all this send to young Sabres fans? And while we are at it, can’t the team just work out a deal that allows them to get both of those guys? It’s only money, and probably a lot less than what it costs to sign a running back or defensive tackle.
